can this be forreal? i normally average like 18mpg on long highway trips around 70-75mph, on friday i took off my roof rack x bars, and took a trip about 220 miles to nj. i averaged almost 20mpg! and honestly i stayed above 75mph most of the way. i cant think of anything else thats changed. do u guys think removing these xbars made the difference or am i missing something
i've actually heard something similar about the x bars, i moved mine to the farthest realward position on my WJ and my milage went up by .5, so who knows
In my old audi, I noticed I got better MPG (+2-3 mpg) when I took the roof racks off. Going to try it on the Jeep and see what happens, I only use the racks like twice a year anyways.
