Even thought the BFG's are much larger? I would think they require more air.

No, 35 psi is 35 psi regardless of the tire size, Getting bigger tires does not mean you need more pressure, it just takes more volume of air to get to that pressure. All you need is 30 to 40 psi and you will be fine.

is it fair for me to assume that all above comments on 265/70/17 e load range tire preasure shall apply to 245/70/17 e load range (cooper discoverer stt)?

Probably so. Any E-load tire is still a 10-ply.
