Bilstein vs Stock

I am considering replacing the stock shocks with the Bilsteins on my 2010 Laredo. Question I have is, to those that have done this, how is the impact harshness with the Bilsteins? Specifically, potholes and broken concrete. I live and drive in New Orleans, and we have some streets that would give the lunar surface a run so this is important.

Definitely want to get rid of some of the float associated with the stock shocks. Also, do the Bilsteins, with their added firmness, make the car feel a bit more 'planted'?

Thanks all!

Re: Bilstein vs Stock

Well...I must say the HD Bilsteins are great! I hated the float and sloppy feel of the stock struts up-front, and in the rears the shocks were crap! I changed over a year ago and could not be happier. IMO there is not more "stiffness", rather you feel what your Jeep is riding on. If I hit a pothole with the stock set-up, I felt like I was losing control of the vehicle. Now, it feels like I hit a pot hole and I controlled it. Kinda hard to explain, but they are a HUGE upgrade over the crappy stockers...and are very versatile! Even my Mom says my Jeep has a great ride

I agree with Scott. They were one of the best upgrades I have done to my jeep.

Re: Bilstein vs Stock

Mine is a 2008... This is Bilstein's part number... I went with WK-HD's, not the SRT8 Bilsteins Scott suggested.
