Talking Bilsteins/Frnt sway bar-Two questions

I have two questions about my newly installedBilsteins and my soon to be installed SRT front sway bar.I got my new Bilsteins installed today and I noticed that on the rear ones on the yellow side where the mount is there is a hairline crack where the weld is.This is on both rear shocks.Could this be the paint coming off the weld?
When I install my front SRT sway bar will I need to get a alignment also. Thanks Joe

Re: Bilsteins/Frnt sway bar-Two questions

you will need an alignment and it is probably just a paint crack, mine had the same thing.

Re: Bilsteins/Frnt sway bar-Two questions

i have both. since the ride height is a tad different, an alignment is in order. more from the shocks. the sway DOESNT affect alignment one bit.

take a pic of where the crack is , i can get a pic of mine and we can compare.

I would have the crack checked out or email Bilsteins and see what they say. I wouldnt accept that at all...

Re: Bilsteins/Frnt sway bar-Two questions

I had no cracks in mine. i'm with Scott I would take pics and send them to Bilstein. I have the WK Bilsteins too and did not get an alignment...have had them on 11K+ miles and 1.5 years and have even tread wear and no pull. I am not saying an alignment is a bad idea, or maybe even necessary. All I am saying is I did not do it and I also have bwoody sway links and srt8 sways with no issues. If/when I get springs and new wheels I will not doubt get an alignment as from what I have read that is absolutely mandatory.

The guys know their stuff, so maybe you should get the alignment...I guess I am just a tard
