honestly?... i pulled it off and the fawkers at the jeep plant put it on too early... so the paint is less than satisfactory under there.

it's also going to be a major bitch to "black out" that badge, and i refuse to just paint it like a goofball... so for now, she stays.

My buddies are pushing HARD to have me replace it with a blacked out decepticons badge. only problem is.... i know im a geek... but not many others do!

considered that for a long time, they would have to be flat black.

also 32" tires for 20"rims are hard to find, and rediculously expensive.

is this a WK only showoff? lol

relwarc - did you do your headlights yourself? looks like you did them exactly how i want to do mine with the amber reflector unpainted...do you have any side shots of your headlights?

#14 ·
i did do mine myself. I will take some better pics. i'm not 100% happy with them. I'll probably break open my other set and do those.

#15 ·
why aren't you happy with them? if you do your other set id be interested in these.

they arent perfect, when i opened them up, they developed these wierd (and identical) stress cracks in the bottom corner... and the tape job was good, but the paint didnt like the chrome. When i do it again ima just paint the entire blinker reflector.

got a set on ebay, sand, prime, shoot, stick.

i used masking tape and a ruler, wasnt hard at all.

Not blacked out but black.. one day I'll paint the chrome trim but sometimes I kinda like it... meh.

In my opinion, you gotta have either something else chrome to accent the chrome moldings. If not, its gonna look a little off..

This is how it would look like with chrome moldings (pmpn8ez's ride, he later got black painted moldings though)

Paul's like: "Fawk a detail/I'll still knock your female"

... you do a fantastic job of hiding those swirls :slapfight: .. the Jeep is looking pimp, brother.
Thank you for your kind words sir :pimp:

Here is mine as of this morning. I just installed the head lights and tail lights after I did some painting on them. The headlights were a major PITA to get open but the result is defiantly worth all of the effort. Next I'm going to debadge and then paint the pockets of the wheels, but since I live in an apartment, I have to do them one at a time while driving on the spare. I'll have a funny looking jeep for a couple of weeks.
Headlights are looking good, and very unique tails you have.

what is the purpose of doing a vinyl roof or is it just for looks? just wondering lol

#31 ·

Everyone needs a little variety :) I like the look and xxx007 rocks it well.

I'm liking the lights. I've opened up the lights on a car before to paint and they are a pita. Idk if I'm ready to do that to the jeep though. I'm not trying to foot the bill right now for new lights if I mess up. I had to do the same with my wheels just because I didn't have the time to do them all at once. I started off with the spare so I would have a matching spare and so after the first wheel was done I'd have atleast 2 matching wheels on the vehicle. Just sux our spares are under the jeeps because unless you take it off and rinse it when you wash it, all that dirt and grime and sand and salt (in my area) sit on there and dine on your paint job. In retrospect, you should do extra coats of clear coat on your spare to protect it while its chilling up under the vehicle
