Blinker Stalk Glitch... question about swapping for new

Recently when switching lanes and using the one-touch blinker i noticed something very weird. If i switch lanes and tap up to go right my blinkers will blink left and sometimes they will act normal. Its been doing this a little bit more frequently and i am starting to think the entire switch assembly/stalk is starting to go. I also noticed the stalk itself seems to have some play in it. I really only have this problem when using the one touch blinker.

So... if i buy a new stalk assembly at the dealer and install it myself, will i need to have this activated with a starscan tool to make work? or is it a simple plug and play and be done?

PnP.

you take off the upper and lower covers behind the wheel and its prety much right there.

since you are not trying to ADD features or anything it should PnP.

Agreed. PNP.

I think it's like 6 screws to get it off.

I was going to replace mine due to interior light flickering issues I was having. Mine also had some play, so I took it completely off and then put it back on making sure all the wires were tight etc. I haven't had an issue since. Hopefully that's all you need.
