Bwoody springs and wk bilsteins

Ok so my next step for the jeep is the Bwoody springs and the wk bilsteins. Im really all about appearance with this and as I have read all of the suspension threads it seems to be the biggest drop. I am hoping that the ride of the jeep is as good or better than it is now stock. I am really just looking for anyones opinion on this and if they think this is the right way to go. Thanks so much for your help!!!!

Re: Bwoody springs and wk bilsteins

performance handling, road manners and such are going to be sports car like.....not quite as extreme as the bwoodys with the SRT bislteins..but pretty extreme. The ride is not gonna be as good as far as comfortable,...the bwoody sprinsg are an extreme drop spring and ride pretty stiff. Be sure to follow the directions for installation of the rear bumpstop. As said in my suspension thread...your gonna have a better chance of bottoming out on large dips, bumps etc.

Re: Bwoody springs and wk bilsteins

There is no free lunch, i.e., there is a drawback to most suspension upgrade mods. Lowering springs and Bilsteins will make it handle much better on smooth roads, but it will not ride as smooth as stock on anything other than a smooth road, and it will be terrible off road.

nah..unless you really want to throw down about $700 for struts/shocks. I found my SRT Biilsteins off a wreck with 1000 miles for cheap...so i went with them. It is a pretty stiff ride bro.......but youll def. not be bouncing and hitting your head on your roof. There will be some times on a bad road surface that it will be rough,.....not gonna lie. The Bilsteins HD's allow for about 3/8" more height than the SRT Bislteins.

Re: Bwoody springs and wk bilsteins

Thanks bro!!! dropped my 2000 mustang gt back in the day and the ride was horrible so Im scared that it will be similar to that. That thing felt like it followed every groove in the road... i couldnt deal and regretted it every day.

Re: Bwoody springs and wk bilsteins

I just swapped out my Eibachs for the Road Magnets and the ride is not as stiff...I found that I get less bottoming out with a longer bump stop up front, for the suggested 1" cut of the stock BS allowed metal to metal contact on dips at high speed or in potholes, etc. I still bottom out occasionally, but it's much better with only about 3/4" of shock travel to the BS.

I like the look, but wish the ride was as firm as the Eibachs.

Well i got the WK Eibachs and my shocks are the stock ones. The ride is like stock but lower with this set up. I may later chance to the srt bilstiens. I like the ride.

Re: Bwoody springs and wk bilsteins

im currently running bwoodys with wk bilsteins......there was much improvement on handling, ride is very stiff but not uncomfortable, just gotta drive slow over bumps and be careful etc. however i got extremely bad body roll with this setup....side to side motion coming into a 90 degree turn with bumps.....almost have to wear a helmet so my drivers side window doesnt knock me out.....im switching up my setup to the wk eibachs on wednesday, i dont plan on racing around a track or around town so im mainly just going for cosmetic look, however im thinking on putting my stock springs back on the front and putting the eibachs just on the rear to get an even stance (which is what im concerned about)
