Re: Can anyone Help Roof Bar Issue

The cross bars are a poor design IMO but there's an easier way to take them off. Loosen the four knobs, then pull the silver knurled pin out from the outboard side(they're facing to the rear) with a pair of pliers. The latch will drop down & if the knob is loose enought, you can then shift the crossbar & remove it. If the silver pins are pushed all the way in, you may not be able to grab the end to pull it out. If that's the case, you'll have to totally unscrew the knob on that side to let the latch drop down. Why Jeep didn't make the pins 1/4" longer, so they wouldn't go in all the way is anybody's guess.

Re: Can anyone Help Roof Bar Issue

if you cant grab the pin, get a small drill and run it in the other side. then get a pin or nail and PUSH the roof rack pin out the other side. and now with hoiles in BOTH sides you can ALWAYS get to the pin.

Re: Can anyone Help Roof Bar Issue

I had the same issue. What I did was move one end of the cross bar forward and the other back. Then with a little push upward it pops off and then just wiggle the other end off.

Re: Can anyone Help Roof Bar Issue

I had alot of difficulty with this as well. The pins were pushed in too far for me to get a substantial grip with my fingers. I used a pair of needle nose pliers and vice grips, they slid right out. Good Luck!
