Car seats (new born +)

I have a baby on the way and i remember reading that some car seats wont work with the WK rear seats because of the head rests.

Obviously first i will need a rear facing car seat when we first get the baby home. But i noticed that there are alot of package setups that will include a rear facing seat that fits in to the stroller that has a forward facing seat built in.

Does anyone have any advice on which ones work and which dont? I have no intension's of modding the seats to make this work.

you (will) have one child...and the safest spot is in the middle rear. Almost all will fit there. We have the Britax marathon there now in my Jeep. But for newborne to 20 pounds we had the Peg Pergo Viaggio. It will slide into their strollers and snap in...very convienent.

Thanks scott. I thought that would be best in the middle so we can both tend to the baby. My only issue there is id like to use the LATCH system and not eh seat belts but that can be dealt with later. Since i cant mod my head rests, if i put the seat in the middle i will deal with using the seat belt.

Ive just started to read reviews on infant seats and combination setups as well as reading and learning everything i can on babys and what to buy, whats good and bad and how they grow etc.

There is so much information out there i want to be a good educated father as we draw closer and closer to the babys birth.

She is 14 weeks preg now so i have all sumer and start of fall(expected date id Oct 20th) to get reading and learning.

Ive got my Eye on this Chicco 30lb cortina travel system that has great reviews and the cons dont really bother me.
http://www.chiccousa.com/gear/travel...s-30-race.aspx

I just need to make sure we get 2 seat bases so we can swap the gear from car to car easily.

If the modding of the head rests is as easy as i am reading i might do it any way but i want everyone input first.

JU Thread. http://www.jeepsunlimited.com/forums...d.php?t=407903
EDIT, this thread wont help me, my head rests seemt o be different. they just fold, the way the head rests mount is just like the other posters pics that wont work. POO.

Thanks to everyone else. We are so thrilled to have this baby on the way!

Re: Car seats (new born +)

We used a Graco Travel system when Hailey was a baby, and it wasn't bad at all. The carrier snapped in to the stroller and back into the car seat base with ease, no issues whatsoever. After she outgrew the rear facing, we got her the Graco Nautilus 3-in-1 car seat which can use the latch system and the seatbelt to hold it in if you like. The harness goes up to 65lbs and after that it turns into a booster seat for when your kiddo is a little older. Were still not even to that stage yet

Congrats and good luck bro!

I could not find any on mine. Maybe i did not look close enough. But ive heard of other '05 owners that dont have them either. Just like my head rests are different so they cant be modded to raise them up for clearance.
