Anybody know how to replace the bulb in the cargo compartment? Does the tailgate panel need to be removed?

The rear light lens just pops out. I used a small screwdriver, with tape over it to reduce scratching, and just pryed it off. It can be a pain to snap back on since the socket sinks in with the clear lens off. Just be patient. I worked out the socket with needle nose pliers.

Disclaimer: some people do have to pop off the panels. I would try my way first, and go to removing the panel if you have to.

I just replaced that light and I could not get the cover back on.. What a pain once the light cover is off the housing.. I have some very small surgical clamps and tried using them but was unable to get it back on. I'll try again later.. I would hate to take the panels off to get the cover back on. Not a good design.

No need to take the whole panel off. Just take out the screws in the middle and on the side of the light. Then get your fingers in between the panel and hatch and give it a tug. Pull it down enough to get your hand in there to hold the light socket while you push the lens from the other side.
