CB Install

I plan on finishing my CB radio install today, but when I go to run power to the battery I have a question.

What's the best way to get from the cabin to the battery?

Re: CB Install

I'd just go to the inside fuse box to a fuse thats on in ignition and accessory positions. These newer vehicles don't make alot of radio noise anymore.

Re: CB Install

I know, I can do that, but I'd rather run the line directly to the battery!

Re: CB Install

I found a company who makes a antenna mount for our trucks. Pm me if you want the name. Why do you want to run it right off the battery? If you forget to turn it off you could have a dead battery etc. I would and will be running it to the fuse block, as was said to you by another member.

Re: CB Install

Everything is installed, I just need to finish wiring...

I know I can run it to the fuse block if I have to, but that's why I'm asking if anyone knows the best way to run wires from the cabin to the engine compartment without drilling the firewall

Re: CB Install

Find a gromit close to the battery area and use a coat hanger to put the wires through the gromit. Tape the wires to the coat hanger and poke the gromit thats close to the battery area

Re: CB Install

Do you have pics of where you mounted the CB radio?
