Clicking noise in left rear?

I just bought my 2005 Limited and I keep on hearing this clicking noise from the left rear. It is very random, however I almost always hear it when I pull up to the mailbox or when I go over a speed bump in a parking lot.

I'm thinking it has something to do with the E-Brake brake pad perhaps?

Also, The previous owner installed some form of a CAI in her, but I cannot tell what one it is. I will post pics tonight! Thanks

Re: Clicking noise in left rear?

If the e-brake shoes are stock they are most likely about to fall off, myself and many other people have had issues with them, the glue they use lets go and the pad is just hanging on by a thread so to speak.

I just removed my e-brake shoes after the second replacements failed. Probably not the best option, but atleast I don't have to worry about them.

Re: Clicking noise in left rear?

x2 on the E-brake

I had a similar clicking/rattling noise from the rear wheel, tore things apart and found pieces of the brake shoe rattling around.

Worked fine after replacing.

Re: Clicking noise in left rear?

Just an update, It was the E-Brake. The pads were just sitting on the inside of the rotor!

Re: Clicking noise in left rear?

Glad it was nothing major. Next time (and there will be a next time!) you'll know exactly what that sound is, and how to get rid of it.
