I have noticed that the lighting on the dual zone climate control is dimming. on the left of the left knob and the right of the right knob it is not illuminated or lightly.

I had my dash apart quickly today to install my I simple ipod integration kit and i did not see how the assembly comes apart to change bulbs like the old school xj/zj. How do i fix this?

The bulbs are soldered on the board, so you need to be knowledgeable with that to replace them. If you go to radio shack the bulbs will be in the drawer section, the part number is 272-1141, mini lamp 12 volts 25mA. Have to remove the climate control assembly from the dash and it splits apart from the rear to expose the cuircut board. All 3 bulbs are out in mine, and have regular bulbs and leds w/resistors to try, but have yet to be motivated enough to do it.

I have a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland, I'm a very particular with it and I want to keep it look like new. I started it this morning and the lights came on and the "mode" knob, far left, not all of the pictograms lit up. I'm guessing one of my bulbs burnt out. Can I replace the bulbs in the auto climate control module the same way as the manual module?

Please let me know. Thank you.

Do I know 100%, No. Since I have the manual. But it cant hurt to take it apart and look yourself. Its not hard to do, everything basically can be pulled off by hand, then use a small flat head screw driver to split the heater control unit apart. Take a look at the bulbs, if a bulb is burnt you will be able to clearly tell since it will be brown or black or even broken like mine were. I listed the replacement bulbs that would work above. Trust me, you can def do it yourself wihtout having to pay for a new unit or stealership prices.
