Clock spring sticker shock...
Well the old 05 Khaki Hemi Jeep has been running somewhat well to 96,000 miles and now has decided to give me some troubles. I had a mechanic friend bring his scanner home from the Mopar dealer and he located the 3 troublesome things that came up. One was the crank sensor($45.75) the next was a right front ABS sensor($33.60) that set off the service 4wd message. The clock spring obviously is setting off the horn and air bag light but the cruise control still functions.I called the dealer and when he quoted me a price($652.00) I about fell off my chair...The dealer said the steering control module apparently came with the clock spring. I am now hoping Troy(MY BUDDY AT THE DEALERSHIP) can get me a discount and try to help me save some coin.If not, I am going to have to stick it out for awhile as I don't have the bucks yet to buy one. My wife finally finished nursing school and just returned back to work so I can now save up some coin to fix it up. Was wondering if anyone knows of a better option?
