Cold Air Intake on 5.7L WK

I recently purchased an 05 WK with a 5.7L and I am looking at installing a cold air intake kit. The vehicle already had a dealer installed Mopar performance exhaust system on it when I bought it. I was wondering what cold air intake sytems other WK owners are using, and would recommend, (manufacturer/model #, ect)? I was also wondering what kind of performance improvements you have see after install? Any changes in your MPG (good or bad)? I am looking at making an already awesome vehicle even better, one Modification at a time.

Re: Cold Air Intake on 5.7L WK

the only true CAI made for the 5.7 is the Bwoody performance CAI. They have 2 designs....3.5" and 4"

yup majority go with bwoody. if you just want a short ram(one that doesn't go all the way down) you have more choices

Re: Cold Air Intake on 5.7L WK

had the airaid and switched to a 4" BWoody...both were very nice additions! I have heard great things about the AFE too!

But like Scott said, only TRUE CAI for the 5.7 is the BWoody...which is why I got it!

Re: Cold Air Intake on 5.7L WK

Besides the obvious size difference, the 3.5" bwoody is a two piece design whereas the 4" is a one piece design. Thats the main difference.

What are the pros and cons of the one piece vs the two piece?

Re: Cold Air Intake on 5.7L WK

I've had the Mopar for over a year now, and no complaints. Fuel mileage unaffected when driven normally, but with the sound, it's hard to keep your foot out of it.
Here's video of mine, this is STOCK exhaust, Mopar CAI, Superchips 91 tune and Superchips transmission tune:

White Chocolate is an unknown quantity at this point
Re: Cold Air Intake on 5.7L WK

It seems like the only way to go right now is bwoody and aFe intakes. I went with an airaid and I'll probably sell it and then buy a bwoody possibly
