Colorado = Jeeps, Beer, Snow, & Ferraris?

I took a spin in Colorado through Silverton & Ouray, on the way to a beer festival in Telluride on Saturday. Had my windshield washer fluid pump go out on me, but there was enough precipitation to keep my glass somewhat clean. Started to see snow on the ground at the southern base of Red Mountain Pass. Got to the Black Bear Pass trailhead, which I ran three weeks ago, probably not the best idea drive it until next year. Dropping into Ouray, I came across at least 30 participants of the Ouray Jeep Jamboree heading out for a wet day on the trails. Got to To-Hell-U-Ride and saw 20-something Ferraris rolling in & parking in the center lane of Main St on a 2011 Fall Foliage Tour. Too bad for them that there wasn't that much foliage to look at yet. Maybe another week or so.

Jeeps, beer, snow, Ferraris... I love the SW Colorado Rocky Mountains!!!!

Re: Colorado = Jeeps, Beer, Snow, & Ferraris?

They left Telluride around 2PM on Saturday. There was also a fairly new Porsche and a black Bently Coupe. I got to chit-chat with a few of the drivers. They seemed OK, looking pretty in their Ferrari garb & jackets. Even saw a few logo umbrellas. GEEZ, I hope us Jeepers aren't that annoying!

What I couldn't get a picture of was their unmarked green Sheriff's Dept. WK escort.

Are you a participant or spectator? I heard they only do 1oz tasters. It would still be awesome. I'd like to get my lips on some Sam Adams Utopias or Founders Devil Dancer. Or even some of the insane Brew Dog stuff like Tactical Nuclear Penguin, Sink the Bismark, or End of History, because I'm not paying $75+ for a single bottle of any of that!

All I saw through through the driver's window was the word "SHERRIF" on the shoulder patch.
