I just started to notice a creaking noise coming from the front end when I back out of my driveway or hit a bump a certain way. It doesn't make any popping sounds, so I don't think its the balljoints, I had it aligned right after I had my RRO 2.25 lift and everything is at stock specs. No problems with steering or anything, other than the creaking sound. Im wondering if its the sway bars making noise, what do you guys think? Thanks
I have it too, lots of Jeeps do I think? It's my Bwoodys or the sways maybe? Could also be the BJ's, only occurs for me at low speed (5mph or less) when turning or when going in reverse as well. Im not really sure if its a big deal, doesnt seem to affect the ride.
Mine was similar until I asked them to be removed and greased last service, quiet as a mouse now and has reduced a light "rattle" through the steering wheel that I had in the front end over particular bumps, small frequency type bumps, into driveways, that kind of thing
I think I narrowed the creaking noise down to the front sway bar,Do you think that the sway bar just needs to be greased or do I need longer sway links?
Did someone say grease the swaybar bushings ?
Yeah, mine were embarassingly creaky. http://sedansandsports.com/JeepSwaybarMod
I'm liking this solution more everyday since one of my bar mount bolts was crossthreaded , by who i dunno, but it took me over an hour to get it driven home proper.
Had the same problem 2012 Jeep Compass 2.4 CVT AUTO LTD. To fix remove sway bar bushers and apply anti-seize, mine was good after doing this good luck.
