Debadging consensus..

Just wanted to get an idea of what the general population feels toward debadging.

I've debadged most of my previous vehicles to what I felt comfortable with.

One previous marque (Audi) the standard was to debadge the model designation (A4, A6, A8 etc.) & the motor designation (2.7, 2.8, 4.2 etc.), but touching the "4-rings" was a no-no.

On my friends SRT8, he wanted both "Jeep"'s off, and we re-located the SRT8 badge to the center on the rear.

Aside from the dealership putting their name badge on the back (instantly removed the night I brought the new addition home), I feel there are too many badges back there. "Jeep", "Hemi", "4 x 4", & "Limited".

So with that...what's your thoughts?

On my Overland I took everything off except the Overland oval on the tailgate. On my LX everything is off all around. The only identifiers are the Dodge Ram on the steering wheel and "Dodge" on the right A/C vent.

i feel that just debadging limited would look best. keep your pride and show the obvious of it being a JEEP and show to others behind you to look the 'F' out with the 'HEMI' and 4X4. I have always liked the idea of coping the charger and repositioning the HEMI badge in front of the the front door on both sides. Mabye even buying the R/T symbol and putting that on one side and 4X4 on the other. Call me dumb i just like that idea.

Ok this maybe a dumb question but, what holds the badge on?? Is it just tape/glue? Are they any holes on the body left from removing the badges, like if were mounted with a pin or some sort?? LOL I know its a dumb question but I've never debadged before...

Definitely not a dumb question.

The body panel badges are held on with 3M double-sided adhesive tape on all current vehicles.

Cars from the early Eighty's and earlier used thicker badges, usually made of metal and not plastic. They had one, or even two "pins" that went through a hole in the body sheet metal, and were held with a clip on the other side.

I'm not sure what I'd like to take off...or even put on? haha I like all my badges, they're like metals of honor! However, I may take the rear Jeep badge off and replace it with an autobots logo!

I am kinda liking the idea of painting them too...

I may also just have the rear 4x4 and HEMI only n take off the Overland badge. Says it on my seats so I'm ok with that! haha

Anyways, that's my input!

That was my idea a hundred years ago, but the 4x4 badge is just a little lower than the hemi badge so I would have to take it off and move it up about a half inch so it'd be even with the emblem (hemi) on the right side of the tailgate. Just been a little lazy...
