Re: Diff Cover Removal - 60K Service

So topped everything off today, angle definitely is key! Even at a slight grade where I did the service originally affected the filling. TCase and front diff took some additional fluid like I thought. Rear was good to go. The hesitation seems to have ceased when driving. I will for sure be at no angle next time. Thanks for all the input gents.

How much did the stealer quote you for?

The estimate was $800, but that was including a few other services they wanted to do in addition to the front/rear diff and TC fluid change for a 60K mile check-up. When I asked for a breakdown of the cost of each service they would perform the service manager was unable to do it. That was my first cue. I can't imagine it was anything too shy of that total number for just the fluid changes in the diffs and TC, but I could be wrong. In the end I found more value in doing it myself.

.....and your newly-found mechanic has a vested interest in how the work is performed.
