Display off

Hallo everybody,

Please I need your help: I have a Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 3.0 CRD, "born"in 2006 and since yesterday I have a problem with the display it stays off and I can't change the radio station, turn the navigation on or turn the CD on. When I start the engine I turn the radio on, it works, but the display is off (usually was on). The first problem that occur was that while I was driving the display turned off by itself, I turned the engine on and the display was on as well, but just for few minutes. But this morning it remain off even when I start the engine and now is off unfortunately.
If someone knows how can I fix it, please tell me.

Re: Display off

I had a different, yet similar experience yesterday with my WK. On the REC, when I turned on the Jeep, the music was playing but I had no radio station info (preset/RDS/Channel info) until I pressed mode to cycle through SAT/CD/AM, then back to FM and it was on from then on. The display was on, yet had no information other than the AM/FM tab in the upper lefthand corner. I chalked it up as a freak event, as it's been working ever since. I'm using the 2009 NAVTEQ version in my 2005.

Best of luck to you! Have you ejected the NAV DVD to see if it would reboot? Otherwise, I'd disconnect the battery for a bit and hope it comes back on when reconnected.

Re: Display off

I try today to see if can turn on the cd player, so I took out al the 6 cd's from the changer and I put one of them on, finally the cd start to play but there is no way I can switch back to radio station and still the display is off, even when I start the engine. One more thing I just realize that except the 8 buttons that are on the left side of the display all the others are not working, in the link below there is a picture with my REC, to avoid any misunderstandings that may occur:

Re: Display off

Usually all the cd players they have a code that you need in case you disconnect the battery of the car, in case somebody is stilling your "thing".
Any way how much is the REC?
