DIY: Grill(e)

Mmk...

I'd like to do a grill similar to what Nate did, the diamond metal. i know I can get it power coated for cheap... but, my question is...

do i have to CUT the current black grill part off?

Just cut the vertical and horizontal bars and then screw in my new pieces?

any input would be awesome!!

Re: DIY: Grill(e)

Yeah but only 1 of the write-ups shows him cutting it.

i JUST got back from home depot...

2 metal pieces, dark gray automotive primer, and "hammered black".... looks kinda powder coated.

i may do it tomorrow and do a small write-up, even though I know people have done them.

i ALMOST bought another color instead of black. i was about to buy like a dark blue but i decided i didnt have enough balls haha

Re: DIY: Grill(e)

Oh yeah...

all the wires are now covered by the black wire cover ropes... as well as the LEDs are perfectly straight, no curves. so the picture is a TAD bit off... but, yeah

Re: DIY: Grill(e)

from ebay. it was a pain getting some that matched.

then....

built a lighted switch into my center console
connected the strips together
ran the switch wires through my firewall
bought a power distributor
connected distributor to the battery and the light to the distributor

and then flip the switch

irf did a great write up on it

searh "Led brow" and it'll come up
