Ive never driven a hemi, but why were you starting in 3rd gear? I think the best way to test the 0-60 is either at the track or with a system hooked up to the obd. What did you think the 0-60 was on that test or whatever. Seven seconds? I thought you had a diablo tuner or whatever.
I duno man but, put that sob in drive let the computer and diablo take care of it. Is the diablo even optimized to run in tow/haul or whatever and auto stick or whatever you were doin also?

Besides, on a side note, when i drove my friends 85 isuzu trooper a while back (5 speed, long-throw shifter and barely a clutch) launching it in anything other than first gear it dogged 10 times worse than it already did.

Sounds lame but it was one of the most fun suvs that i had driven to date... hahaha other than my jeep of course
Well here, all im saying is i think it is somewhat pointless in your case. Im not against it persay... In my case i have a stock tune so the tow haul will override what ever is stock operation right? Changes it to a 4 speed, modifys the shift points a bit, etcetera.
Since you have the diablo, you are using an optimized tune from the get-go. Who says the tow-haul isnt over-riding some of what the diablo should be doing? Like i said, i dont know anything about it but id highly believe the diablo would work best by just dropping her into drive and letting the computer (diablo) do its magic.
How is the diablo tested/marketed anyhow? Do they recommend using autostick? or towhaul operation or anyhtin like that? Or just putting it in drive and let her rip?
I say just give it a run with tow/haul turned off and see if it feels any faster or drives any different.
Just do different things you know - you've got plenty of different configurations to do test runs:
First run - truck in D, tow/haul off, ESP on
Second run - truck in D, tow/haul on, ESP on
Third run - truck in D, tow/haul off, ESP off
Fourth run - truck in 1, tow/haul off, ESP on
And so on and so forth. In stock form, if you start out in 1 and run it up to redline the transmission will override and automatically shift to 2 as to not damage the engine or transmission. IIRC, at least in my case, by using the superchips that is disabled so if I start out in 1 I better remember to shift.
Was it hot out today up there too Joe? I know that when it's hot down here (like 90 degrees +) there is a noticeable affect on performance. That is why I like the drive to work on the cool mornings (usually below 70), and the drive home when its hot as hell isn't so fun.
The heat could definitely could be a factor for sure, run some other tests and see what you think like frank was saying. Im still sticking to my...
*turn jeep on
*shift to drive
*stomp on gas
Thinking back on a couple 0-60 runs I did... I think you should leave ESP off.
I did my runs by keeping it in D, tow/haul was off and on my first run I had ESP on and I just floored it from a stop and it felt like a dog off the line, I didn't even power brake it or anything - just floored it off idle.. I'm thinking the computer held back power.
I then ran a test with ESP off and it felt quicker off the line.
I personally feel that I get the fastest acceleration if I roll into the throttle instead of just flooring it.
Get a Dashhawk Joe!
Add 100 octane next time we are at the track.
All I can tell you is that for the mods you have you are running very strong now in the summer, in winter you'll brake the 14.3
Maybe you could tape the camera on that little flat ledge in front of the guages to film, that way you can shift through the gears yourself. When i did 0-60 on my 4.7 with totally stock settings, the autostick was almost a half a second faster every time, as opposed to stomping on it in drive.
Joe, I have noticed a difference in my 0-60 by just removing my antenna. Do you still have yours? I predict i gained about 10-15+ horses easy. O wait nevermind we arent driving gay ass litte imports. It seemed ok to me but next time you video tape while driving y dont you invest in some double sided tape and put the camera on the steering wheel like i do.?.?
