Why are you against Tow/Haul Mike?

---------- Post added at 09:02 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:57 PM ----------

Parameters I was playing around with.

WOT Fuel: 2% across the board.

What do you guys think? Should I cut back on the fuel by .5 %? And what else should I do?

Re: Does This Seem Slow To You?

Well here, all im saying is i think it is somewhat pointless in your case. Im not against it persay... In my case i have a stock tune so the tow haul will override what ever is stock operation right? Changes it to a 4 speed, modifys the shift points a bit, etcetera.

Since you have the diablo, you are using an optimized tune from the get-go. Who says the tow-haul isnt over-riding some of what the diablo should be doing? Like i said, i dont know anything about it but id highly believe the diablo would work best by just dropping her into drive and letting the computer (diablo) do its magic.

How is the diablo tested/marketed anyhow? Do they recommend using autostick? or towhaul operation or anyhtin like that? Or just putting it in drive and let her rip?

Re: Does This Seem Slow To You?

By having the selector on "3" doesn't mean he started in 3rd - just means the truck won't shift past third gear.

That time seemed alright to me... doesn't the diablo have a 0-60 timer on it? Just by watching I'd guess somewhere between 6 and 7 seconds.

I agree with others here though, just leave it in D, turn tow/haul off and give her a run.

I also notice you have a full tank of gas - and had you been driving around hard before that? Intake and whatnot could have been a little heatsoaked.

The Diablo doesnt have the 0-60 timer.

LT- So you agree with Mike on the Tow Haul issue?

That sucks there isn't a timer...

I say just give it a run with tow/haul turned off and see if it feels any faster or drives any different.

Just do different things you know - you've got plenty of different configurations to do test runs:

First run - truck in D, tow/haul off, ESP on
Second run - truck in D, tow/haul on, ESP on
Third run - truck in D, tow/haul off, ESP off
Fourth run - truck in 1, tow/haul off, ESP on

And so on and so forth. In stock form, if you start out in 1 and run it up to redline the transmission will override and automatically shift to 2 as to not damage the engine or transmission. IIRC, at least in my case, by using the superchips that is disabled so if I start out in 1 I better remember to shift.

Was it hot out today up there too Joe? I know that when it's hot down here (like 90 degrees +) there is a noticeable affect on performance. That is why I like the drive to work on the cool mornings (usually below 70), and the drive home when its hot as hell isn't so fun.
