Using manual mode helps me, due to the cam, etc., for it'll down shift too soon otherwise. Even when it was stock, I thought that the tranny shifted way too soon and bogged down around town and going up hills, without heavy input from my foot. I like to keep the shifts between 2-3Krpms, for it's easier on the engine. That being said, tow/haul mode works pretty good.
