Re: Does using the "Tiptronic" like shifter save gas?

i believe the term for out wk's is "autostick" for the shifter, at least that is what it is called in my 08 5.7. I use autostick when I want to get on it, or towing up a hill to hold the gear I want. when you use it like I do it def uses MORE gas than "Drive" I love launching in 1st with tow/haul on and mds disabled on 91 octane with a nice tune (and I am in the process of getting a Johan toona tune, just sent in the data logs...sooo excited)

Re: Does using the "Tiptronic" like shifter save gas?

Using manual mode helps me, due to the cam, etc., for it'll down shift too soon otherwise. Even when it was stock, I thought that the tranny shifted way too soon and bogged down around town and going up hills, without heavy input from my foot. I like to keep the shifts between 2-3Krpms, for it's easier on the engine. That being said, tow/haul mode works pretty good.
