Lol!

I moved this Feb. to a place where I have my own land and can shoot more. I was just looking at the gas I will save, and converted it to "cases of ammo" to better put a "face" on it. I was stunned at how much gas I would be saving at very little performance loss (about 1 second slower 0-60 than my WK w/HEMI, about half a second slower than the new WK2's with HEMI).

So I feel like I got "something for nothing", since I don't tow.

That said, I don't see it as a step down except in towing or offroad capability. Resale, reliability, operating costs, and safety are all better than the WK I came from. That's a step up for me.

What impressed me the most, I think, was how Mazda's superior engineering with regard to occupant safety overcame the disparity in mass/amount of metal, to net better crash-worthiness than the Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Re: Done.

IIRC - You bought your Jeep used. Did you buy from a dealer or privately?

My missus had a Mazda Protege a few years back. It had fine engineering
and the only thing that ever went wrong was a knob fell off the radio. For a car-like SUV, you made a good choice.

Our Jeep, which we bought new and with an extended warranty, has been great and we bought it as we needed a vehicle capable of towing and doing some light off-roading.

As you are more than aware, buying a used vehicle is more of a crap shoot than buying new......as the new car warranty is your friend !

Good luck with your Mazda though...

Thank-you. That is what I keep hearing from people who've owned them.

I am glad! Motor on and enjoy it in good health!

I have had both good and bad results buying both new or used. My Jeep and Infiniti were horror stories bought used.

My Trans Am's (1995/2001) and mustang GT were good and great stories of used vehicles I bought much later in their life cycles than this Jeep was.

My Nissan 370Z was a horror story bought new.

Interestingly, the CX-5 is madly popular in Australia. Looking at their vehicle review, I found it to be considered a pretty solid buy:
http://www.australiasbestcars.com.au/Portals/0/2014/Scoresheets/2014%20Best%20AWD%20SUV%20under$45K.pdf

Anyway, it's a shame we can't get all the cool Diesels they have in the rest of the world over here in America. I would love a CX-5 diesel or Subaru diesel or any other number of such. That is one thing that Jeep did manage, is to put a diesel power-plant on American soil in an SUV, and good on them for that.

Yes, enjoying the Mazda. Enjoying even more that literally Noone has been able to come up with any negative points about it that a secure manhood would pay any mind to. I mean, if n23 or leaky transmissions or whatnot were a cx5 problem, you'd make the point. Right? Kinda confirms that I made a good choice.

Anyway, enjoy your jeep. Mr classy, edgy guy, you! Lol.

("I'm edgy and classy"...did someone insulting someone's masculinity actually say that???)

-you are "classy and edgy"
-you live in cali
-you heard a girl call your jeep "sparkly" and thought it fit well.
-your first attack on someone's choice of vehicle is a sexually oriented one.

Maybe taken individually I wouldn't think much of it, but all togather...I don't think a mazda is the questionable thing here...

I have come to a conclusion. You sir are an idiot! Wtf are you doing posting reviews and why you like mazdas on a JEEP forum? You seriously expected to get a positive reaction? You have a problem with people that live in California? And you made it sexual with calling it a form of dick measurement I just said it was a chump car. I never tried to insult your masculinity. Your the one making a list of attacks against me and my "masculinity." However I can see now clearly I am a higher value gentleman from your childish comments. You can't fix your car yourself that's why you had all the problems with a jeep, you trusted someone that was unskilled. Moron. GTFO of here if you want to continue promoting propaganda for mazdas. This is Jeep Garage! *said in the tone of this is sparta!*

Re: Done.

Scott, why don't you just get rid of this troll? He's been on some of the other Jeep forums too, and all he's done from the get go is bitch and complain about his Jeep. Some have told him to go over to the nazda forum and start complaining about his mazda, which I am sure he will eventually. I don't think this guy would be satified with anything. For sure we don't need him on our great JEEP forum talking about and posting pix of a piece of crap mazda. For sure he's now just trolling and trying to push everyones' buttons. After seeing that ugly thing, I wouldn't own a mazda on a bet...maybe a Toyota or Nissan though.

Re: Done.

His recent posts have all been in response to other posts. So obviously there are people who want to engage in a conversation. Those who are bothered by his posts would be smart not to read them.

My Ford Escape has been more trouble free than the Jeep it replaced. It's not in the same class as the Jeep, but that's another issue. I'm counting on Sergio to have the bugs out for MY16.

I think even a Ford Edge would be better than whatever he has. I mean at least it's somewhat American I think?

That was what I said when I bought my Jeep. A year later, I BELIEVE THEM! Nothing but problems. One of the local Dodge dealers was 3 months backlogged, so apparently I wasn't the only one. When the dealer says they are so swamped that they will take 3 months to get to your busted water-pump...you know you're not the only one.

Quite frankly, the Jeep was very nice. It was always just very broken. I chose to break the cycle of abuse and move on.
