Door Panel Rattles

Hello all! New owner of a 2010 WK laredo, pretty bare bones. This being my first domestic product in quite some time, I was wondering if anyone else is having the same problems I am.

Only have about 2000 miles and 1 month, first 1000 were rattle free but recently both front door panels have an annoying rattle. Cannot locate the exact source, but almost sounds like an old spring back and forth. There are a few other rattles from sources I cannot locate right now. Bottom line the interior seems to be put together pretty poorly (especially the door panels), though I will say the dash appears to be rock solid.

Is this normal for this car at such a low mileage? I pretty much expect the first 30k or so miles to be rattle free so should I just take this a business as usual for this vehicle?

Thanks!

i just bought a 2010 and i have all kinds of squeaks and rattles as of late. Nothing sounds serious but just annoying. I have something in the back passenger side that is a squeak, almost like rubbing plastic.... ANNOYING!

Sometimes when I come flying into my driveway which is uneven, the car starts to squeak in the back alot with the plastic. I'm pretty sure that it's because it has a unibody construction and not a frame and a tub.

Re: Door Panel Rattles

dynamat/weather stripping. I read somewhere someone used weather stripping to stop rattles. It turned out to be great because one side is sticky so you can stick it anywhere, and they make different sizes. I havent had any problems with my jeep yet, this was on my rsx.

Re: Door Panel Rattles

I have had rattles since about 30k; very annoying, as none of the other cars I have ever owned did this at all, even after 100k.

Re: Door Panel Rattles

I don't know if '10s still have this setup, but I posted about the cause of the door panel squeak in my '08 here:

Re: Door Panel Rattles

Make sure it's not your left knee hitting the door handle. The bottom edge of the handle just barely rubs against the pocket in the door panel. Mine will squeak if I rest my leg against it.

I've just got a cheap ol' laredo 3.7, and quiet as a church mouse at 60k.

Until you actually need to accelerate. Then that hamster-wheel of an engine screams in pain...
