EGR Valve Location & Removal

Hi All
I have a problem with my 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee 3 Litre Diesel, the engine preformance is really poor and I believe it is something to do with the EGR Valve, which I am trying to remove to clean and check it is working properly but I can not fully remove it, the bulk head is in the way, I have only about an inch left to go before I get it out but without beating the bulk head to bits I can't see how to get it fully out....any ideas how to get it out and actually test it.
Many thanks

Re: EGR Valve Location & Removal

Have you looked into the swirl motor?

is it throwing any codes and does the check engine light come on?

Re: EGR Valve Location & Removal

Do you have codes? Just delete the EGR. Apparently you can put a 4.7Kohm resistor in the plug and block the EGR off. I don't know the specifics but jeepfourm has more info. The swirl motor problem can be solved using the same method.

Next is a Custom Spooling Tune with a DPF and EGR delete.
