Dang!

Re: Electric cooling fan

Indeed it is. Well i don't think Jeeps have cooling problems under normal operation either unless there is something wrong like matt suggested.

Re: Electric cooling fan

Yeah that was the only issue i ever had with that wrangler. I had to do 50mph with the heat on blast all the way to my sisters house in raleigh. It was 90 degrees with typical nc humidity for labor day weekend. See I had the radiator replaced about 4 months prior, the ****ers put a ton of leak stop in the coolant with the new radiator. When i pulled the stat it was caked with the infamous leak stop flakes. Even though the problem was fixed it made me want to get rid of it, hence i now have my grand cherokee. So in the end, if it really starts to over heat, have pep boys or advance pressure test your radiator cap. Then make sure your stat is not clogged.

Re: Electric cooling fan

Yeah i suppose i can check it out sometime later today. I mean the truck only has 35k miles so i couldn't imagine any issues with the coolant but ill look into it.

Re: Electric cooling fan

I have not had my 4.7 up to that temp yet but i have had it on 95* days and it was warmer but not super hot.

I am used to my 4.0 from my xj that runs 210* at running temp on a cold day. (normal for the 4.0 to run hot)

Let me know how it goes with that 180 stat. There was supposed to be one by JET that was supposed to be a really close fit but i don't know or have seen anyone trying the darn thing.

Yeah i mean if you are getting that dirt on the rad. just take the grill off and give it a nice washing. While driving again through flooded streets by me when i used to have my oldsmobile, i had water up to the bumper. Didnt know radiator was covered with grass and leaves and other storm debris. The radiator was not visible on the intrigue of course. Next day the sucker overheated. I was like man what the heck stupid flood... but then when i looked at the actual radiator it was just caked. Cleaned that off all nice like and no problems.
