Exhaust options of new jeep

Picked up my 2010 grand cherokee HEMI today. WOW what a difference over the 07 4.7L. The interior is more refined and the power increase is incredible. Im looking for a catback exhaust system. Stainless steel. I had a flowmaster 50 suv on my 4.7L and it sounded good but i want to go with a whole system this time. How is borla?

Re: Exhaust options of new jeep

i love my Borla...mine is a muffler from a 5.9 rt durango, so IDK about the "bolt-on" borla for the WK...but the Borla is very quiet until you open her up. My buddy took it off his Durango bc it was too quiet and went with the flow50. I removed the resonator and I have no drone. If you are looking for something loud all the time, prolly go a different route than the Borla...BUT if you want a clean sound with some aggressiveness @ WOT with no drone @ 80mph than the Borla is for you

and congrats on the new HEMI purchase

Re: Exhaust options of new jeep

then the borla is prolly the wrong one...it is more sharp and refined sounding as opposed to burly if that makes any sense HAHA

Re: Exhaust options of new jeep

i would suggest a cat back with a resonator. borla dont have one but gibson does as well as magnaflow.

i have the magnaflow on my 4.7 and I love the WOT sound and all but there is some drone about 70-80 which is cruising speed here. the hemi dont have this issue due to the resonator.

Re: Exhaust options of new jeep

I heard videos of L-Train's MBRP on his 5.7. Very very mean sounding. But it had no resonator so drone will be an issue.

I have the MBRP and it doesnt drone as much as one might think. Its noticable between about 40-50 just cruising, with the foot sort of on the pedal, and around 60-70 with the foot again sort of on the pedal. When you take it off it completely cuts out. And when you get on it, it sounds like a wild wolverine coming out of the tailpipe

It sounds awesome, I had the borla before this, and removed it. If you go the MBRP give me a PM... I'll tell ya where to get it from to save you a few bucks... (They sent me the invoice of what the company i bought it from paid)

Re: Exhaust options of new jeep

I read somewhere that good system have exhaust mandrel bent turns whereas showy ones needs to be enhanced , so look out for those.
