Re: Exterior Front Door Handles Removal?

Come to think of it - I don't think the passenger side front has a cylinder lock...I'd have to go out to confirm, but I think it is only on the drivers side.

I wouldn't want to remove the only physical way to unlock the car. Not only would you have to worry about the key FOB going dead, it is also possible that there is a problem with the remote entry system in the future.

With the physical lock, you can always get in and get access to the engine bay to reset the electronics, or can start the car and silence the alarm (since that doesn't require a working FOB, just a properly coded key).

Also, what happens if your CAR battery goes dead? You'd have to break in to be able to gain access to the hood release...

Just some thoughts!

Re: Exterior Front Door Handles Removal?

just driver side with the cylinder lock. For now, i removed the cylinder lock, still trying to see if i can get around that. I email oznium to see if i can get the bolt shorter without switching to some cheapo ebay stuff.

for now i got finished pics. The light is bright and looks OEM imo and i love it. Lights up the handle as well as the ground. Some pics with flash/without

Re: Exterior Front Door Handles Removal?

This is cool.

Personally, I like the glow handle lights better, even though they are less functional. I did a red glow accent light for all of my handles in my old sunlit copper Murano. Looked great. I plan on doing the same with my 2014 Billet Silver Limited. I was thinking blue, but I really would like to match the factory accent lighting in the inside door handles, cup holder, etc..

I also noticed that there is a new trend to install door projectors with logos, etc. I'm not sure if I like them or not.

Re: Exterior Front Door Handles Removal?

thanks bro.

Im not sure of what glow handle lights are but i prolly seen em while researching on this mod. I finally came to what i did when i saw my buddy's 2013 BMW 335. I first thought about the blue as well but i thought that might be a lil "rice" so i settle on the white. To me it looks much classier and functions perfectly. Lights up handle as well as the floor.

As for the door projectors, i think it's a bit tacky. I believe Ford was the first(?)to offer this? i believe the '13 stangs got it.

Re: Exterior Front Door Handles Removal?

Glow looks like this, where the handle is back lit.

I like it because it looks classy when all four handles are lit. But you have to make sure that the color you use is complimentary to the paint color. When I first did my copper Murano I used blue, but it looked like crap as it didn't match the paint, I switched to red and it looked classy.

The interior accent lighting of the 2014 is actually cyan. I think that cyan would look good with the Billet Silver. I agree that blue is kinda tuner

5mm Aqua LED | Through Hole LEDs | Component LEDs | Super Bright LEDs

Not a great example because of the difference in door handles, but this is kinda what aqua would look like.

Re: Exterior Front Door Handles Removal?

had a feeling those were what you meant. Interested to see how that will turn out if you do decide to tackle it.

I think the aqua will look great against your billet silver, matching your interior accent lighting. Do they offer color changing accent lightning in your '14 Limited?

Re: Exterior Front Door Handles Removal?

I can't remember how I removed the front handles but they were really easy. I think I was able to reach behind and get it off with a very small ratchet. Deffinatley didn't take he regulator off or anything like that.
