I have a 2006 WK, and want to know what % the back windows are. I want to tint the front and want it to match the back...Thanks for the help!

i believe its 18%

ouch..and I dont believe I can get 18% anywhere...this is going to be difficult, I can already tell lol...thanks for the help!

ill go for 15 or 20%.

^ yup get 15% on the front sides because with the sun coming through the windshield it makes them look lighter, this way theyll look like they match

I had my front's tinted to 20% and when I was pulled over last month, the sheriff's tint gauge showed 82% tint :D. Most good tint shops should be able to measure your factory tint and get you close. My front and rears look identical tint wise.

Good luck!

btw I got out of the ticket because some clown flew past us on the side of the road doing easily 80mph in a 50 and the officer threw my id and insurance at me and gave chase. I think it was a slow day for them, because I've been driving for almost 2 years without any issues.

Go 15%..
I have 20Z% on my fronts and it doesn't match, lighter than the rears. :(

Had my front windows tinted at 35 and got pulled over 3 times that same month. Cops let me go because I was in uniform from my city job. Anyway, l decided to jump to 50 after one night while trying to make a left turn I couldn't see a pedestrian crossing the street. My 50's look okay. I can always use the back seats :)

I have 5% all around except front windshield. Even 5% over the factory. Backing up at night can be a bit** but roll down the front windows a bit and your fine. I LOVE it, had it for about 2 months now and I live in Fairfax County and haven't gotten pulled over yet. It is BY FAR my favorite mod and I would never go back. Only problem is during the day the windshield looks too bright, I'm thinking about tinting the windshield a bit but I'm worried about being able to see at night.

I understand through you JG vets that the factory tints are within the glass.

Do the factory tints still provide sun and heat reflection or should a clear reflective film be added to the rear/back to do this?

Thanks all.

hes right, there is no UV-A or B protection from the sun on factory smoked glass. I had a local shop add 35% to all the rears and 20% to the front. Back glass reads 7%, getting fronts redone to 15% this week.

Spent about 6 hours over three days getting the tint just perfect on my 240 a few years back. Drove it for the first time a week later. Made it 1.2 miles down the road from my house and a friendly trooper wrote me a $225 ticket and made me take the tint off before I could drive away. I swear! You'd think I had a bumper sticker that read "I Hate Piggly Wigglies!"; when in fact, some of my best friends are LE. Oie.
