Final Saga of Mike's 06 Hemi/Limited...

Saturday it didn't want to start after filling it up with gas... finally starts but runs real rough and stalls... will only stay running with judicious pumping of the gas pedal.... sounds like its running on 6-7 cylinders....

Not driveable....

Fast forward to Tuesday when Crossroads Jeep of Virginia finally diagnoses as stuck valve on number 6.

No compression on 6.

Cousin spoke to his friend a Dodge mechanic... he explains what happened and why i was a qt and half low on oil....

Apparently the oil seal lets go, oil flows freely into the cylinder and the valve floats in the hole still going up/down until eventually it kinks and bends/breaks or just gets stuck....

I decided to cut my losses and just gave the jeep to the cousin who rescued me... since it will need a head minimally or more likely a short block....

Sorry guys but not going near any Chrysler products for awhile...

I maintain my vehicles with syn and good maintenance and never had 1 die like this in over 30 yrs. Even my old mustang that I raced at Lime Rock...

The more I investigate this on the net the more horror stories I find.

P.S. I'm in Venice Florida and have some misc stuff... stock am/fm/cd/sat radio and the longer front lip spoiler if anybody wants them cheap...

Good luck wherever you go... welcome to cars today! its completely luck of the draw, ford, chrysler, gm, honda, acura, mercedes, land rover, bmw. Now-a-days its much less preventative maintenance and the car runs forever, its there are SOME cars that will never let the owner down, and some that lead the owner to bankruptcy, its more now what are the more affordable cars to repair. I remember driving past the honda dealer on a testdrive with a newer van sitting in front of the shop with "LEMON" painted all over the outside of it. If you drive a subaru, you better be saving for your 5-7 yr head gasket job, if you drive a 6.0l ford powerstroke you better be saving for high pressure oil leak repairs, egr cooler failures, and head gaskets, only in that pickup being 10 yrs old now your basically refinancing the value of the truck to pay for those repairs. Welcome to cars today, I wish you the BEST of luck (because that is what it is) on your next purchase!
