Flat tow confusion

Hi all, noob here I had an old ~75 CJ7 years ago and later an 87 Cherokee (wife's) which I loved but she hated so it went away. I've always wanted another Jeep. What I need is something that can carry a large kayak on the roof (PA14, 100lbs+), tow my current travel trailer and then BE towed by the class c motorhome I plan to upgrade to. I have about $10K to spend so I am looking at '05 Grand Cherokees with the 4.7 HO V8, which seem to go for about my budget with 100-150K miles here in So Cal. My confusion is about the 4wd systems, Quadra Trac vrs Quadra Drive. It seems to me that once it has a transfer case with a neutral position any vehicle could be flat towed. Am I wrong ? Also I notice that the QD is full time 4wd, either H or L. Does the QT system have a 2H option? In short I don't know if it matters but most of the jeeps I see for sale have the Quadra Drive system. Any advice / education will be greatly appreciated, TIA

Re: Flat tow confusion

from '05 WK shop manual:

Towing - Quadra-Trac I (Single-Speed Transfer Case) 4WD Models

CAUTION: Recreational towing is not allowed. This model does not have a N (Neutral) position in the transfer case.

Towing - Quadra–Trac II /Quadra–Drive II 4WD Models

CAUTION: Internal damage to the transfer case will occur if a front or rear wheel lift is used when recreational towing. The transfer case must be in the N (Neutral) position, and the transmission must be in the P (Park) position for recreational towing.

Re: Flat tow confusion

No models have a 2-high option. QT-I is the base 4wd drivetrain without 4-low, mostly seen on the Laredo & SRT8 models. Like the previous post states, there is no neutral drivetrain option. QT-II & QD-II have 4-low with a pinhole thingee neutral position on the electric transfer case lever for flat towing. QD-II has front & rear electric limited slip differentials that are activated full time when in 4-low... FYI
