Any ideas where I can get an oem fog light kit for the best price? I need the lights, switch, and anything else that is required for install... Thanks!

Re: Fog Light Kit

just for jeeps has them, but i think it's cheaper if you buy everything separately, i believe you need the lamps (about 25 a piece iirc) the switch a relay, and take it to the dealer to be turned on via starscan tool!

EDIT: Fogs http://www.justforjeeps.com/refogla.html
Switch part number SM405 about $55 from rock auto. good luck!

Re: Fog Light Kit

^^x2 BUT

Im looking into the same thing, and no relay is needed.Everything is PnP! You should have the fog light plugs tucked under your bumper. ALSO you need the new column switch W/fog control W/O autoheadlights. ROCKAUTO.COM has the column switch for only 49.99!! 54+change shipped for me.

You may have to go to the dealer and have them use that tool to activate the fog action on the comp. Fog light housings could probably be found on RA also..

Re: Fog Light Kit

I am going to do this, but I am torn between the clean look of using the oem stalk switch or the ability to run highbeams and fogs simultaneously.

Supposedly if you can trick the jeep tech, it can be programmed to run both. Apparantly its illegal.

Does anyone know if you can tap into the relay with your own switch? I dont want to run more wire under the hood. I rather use the wiring that is already there

Re: Fog Light Kit

Make a friend that works for a dealer they can set up the tipm to allow the fogs with highs... thats how I have mine set up

It is "illegal" but really, at least personally, I rarely use my high beams (especially when I have functional HID low beams and fogs... I NEVER used my highs). It would take a couple of stars aligning for you to get caught for it. If a cop is oncoming your going to be switching to lows before he realizes you have 6 forward facing lamps on, and if you drive up on one, you deserve a ticket if you havent switched them to lows again, by the time he realizes you have 6 lamps on. Furthermore you need a cop whom has nothing better to do.

SportRanger06 is just really nice
Re: Fog Light Kit

Just for jeeps does have a complete fog kit. However, I bought all the parts for my Jeep separately and paid less. It's a very easy install. Just install the lamps in the bumper, swap the switch on the column, and drop in a fuse and relay. Then drive to your local dealer and have them activated with the star scan tool. With the fogs and the OEM HID conversion, I never use my high beams unless I am trying to get someone's attention.

You don't need a harness, but a relay, to plug into the fuse box

Re: Fog Light Kit

Yes, unless you know someone on the inside. Depends, I've heard people say anywhere from free-$100. Dont let them rip you off it only takes about one minute. So if you go in there, explain that and see if they are willing to work with you on the price
