Fog Lights turning off when Right Turn Signal is Activated

Hey guys, I just got my 2008 Hemi WK about 3 weeks ago and the modding has already begun. But I have noticed something weird and I can't find any answers. My for lights are turning off when I turn on my right turn signal, and come back on immediately after turning the turn signal off. It only does this with the right signal, not the left.

I figured this was some sort of indication that one of my bulbs was out, so I checked, and I found that my right side marker light in the passenger headlight was indeed out. I though for sure that replacing this would fix my issue. Unfortunately it did not.

Anyone have any ideas what's causing this? I doubt this is related, but being that it involves lighting it might be worth mentioning, I have replaced all of my interior lighting with LEDs.

Thank you guys!

It must have something to do with the front control module, which switches the ground for the fog relay. I only have no idea what happens inside the front control module.

Does the right side bulb blink quicker than the left?

Nope, they both blink the same speed. Fog lights aren't burnt out either, and I have checked all other exterior lights as well, they are all good.

The fogs do not turn off when the emergency flashers are on, only with the right turn signal, which is odd. Another weird thing I've noticed is that my right turn signal is hard to get to stay in place. I have to gently click the turn signal lever up into the right turn signal position and gently let go of it otherwise it snaps back down into the middle position. I'm not sure if this is related or not.

Re: Fog Lights turning off when Right Turn Signal is Activated

Hey guys, thanks again for the replies. I have an update. I took my Jeep to the dealer as it was under a 60 day limited warranty still. I let them know that my suspicion was with the turn signal / lighting lever on the steering column. As I was trying to diagnose this issue I noticed that if I put pressure forward or backwards on that lever while the right turn signal was on that I could get the fog lights to turn back on. There was some sort of short in this lever. The dealership confirmed my thoughts and replaced this lever and everything functions perfectly now!

I gotta tip my hat to AutoNation Chrysler Jeep West in Golden, Colorado. They have been amazing to work with post-purchase. You'd think that with a used car, the day have little interest in customer satisfaction, but they have gone way above and beyond, replacing my blend doors (huge job), water pump, turn signal lever, and even my HVAC control due to some burnt out bulbs.

I highly recommend them if you live in the Colorado area!

Thanks everyone. Hope this helps someone in the future!
