Fortin bypass unit for JGC 2006

Hello all,

Guys i have just bought a Fortin EVO-CHR bypass unit for my 2006 export GCJ 5.7 Overland along with the CHAR-CHR2 specific wiring and i am going to try and install a remote starter and hopefully bypass my factory alarm.

My question is this: Has anyone on here used a bypass unit to install an aftermarket alarm/remote start on a JGC? and did they have any issues or hints with the install?

Any help would be great, look forward to hearing from you.

Jon

Re: Fortin bypass unit for JGC 2006

Hi,

How did you get on with this?

I have a 2007 overland 5.7 which was manufactured in 06 and would love remote start especially with the factory fob.

Any advice would be appreciated,

Regards,

Paul.

Re: Fortin bypass unit for JGC 2006

car audio installer for 8+ years

i've used a few fortin modules in my time, deal mainly with directed electronics and audiovox.

The EVO-CHR should integrate with your factory alarm, locks and numerous other features, i'm assuming you've seen the installation guide

http://ifar.ca/download/7071/evo-chr...v-20121217.pdf

i can tell you parking lights from expirience are kind of a pain as you have to run a wire under the hood and tap directly into pin 85 of your parking light relay at the under hood fuse box.

If you've never installed a remote starter before or dont have an extremely throughout knowledge of automotive electrical systems, i would HIGHLY reccommend not learning on the Jeep, they are VERY picky, and even as a seasoned installer these cars will still take me a solid 3.5 hours of work.

any questions though or need any help by all means, send me a PM.
