Well I just got off the phone with David the owner and he told me that the Vipers need spacers in the front and that the lug nuts that hes sending me might not fit because the rims rest on bolts other than the hub or something. This is my first time ever buying rims so I was expecting these things to go straight on with no problem, cuz I don't like mickey mousing stuff so now I'm starting to lose interest in this whole thing and I'm almost ready to say screw it. I dont know maybe i just need to be reminded of how great they are gonna look on my whip.......I just don't know. I think the whole 6 month wait including the extra week I'm gonna have to wait because of this goddamn typhoon in the Philippines. I was supposed to get them yesterday and now I gotta suffer another whole week.
Somebody help me by explaining to me that all this news I just got is nothing to worry about and that everythings gonna fit great w/o issues. Because if its gonna be a headache imma send them things back and get my damn $2,300 back.
I honestly dont know what I'd do. They dropped the ball on these...I know that. theres no way they should need spacers. The WK calipers are not that big.
Ok, so why would the 20s not need spacers but the 22s do? That does not make any sense if the only difference should be diameter and not offset or back spacing.
I just tried to call and cancel my order and David told me that ups already picked them up......He told me that in 4 months they are gonna redo them without the need of spacers and that he would swap the 2 fronts for me for free......so i guess spacers for a few weeks???
But he told me that if i change my mind for sure that i could send them back......what do yawl think???
I agree. 1/8" spacers are no big deal. And that's probably all you'll need. Shit... I'm runnin 1 1/4" spacers right now! (talk about unsafe! Lol) And ran them all last winter too. Just make sure the spacers are hub centric. Make sure you torque them down after a couple hundred miles of driving too
I agree it's shitty that FR dropped the ball on this one. But I think they gave you good options.
Remember, you're the 1st person to get these wheels, things could be worse!
So you waited 6 months for the 22's, and now you have to use spacers on the fronts for 4 months and then get new wheels in 4 months...
As much as it may suck, I say send them back and wait the 4 months. its going to be winter anyways, and what happens when you send the front two back, and the guy have no idea why.. Not saying its going to happen but I would get somewhere in writing that you can get the other 2 back
Man you have come this far dont give up now! I say get it in writing that he is swapping the fronts out in less than 4 months for free as long as the spacer is not that big then roll with it..TRUST me when i say if u settle for something u dont want you wont be happy bro!!! I been through 3 sets of rims and tires in 14 months until i finally found what i liked lol...
I definately agree, I really like those viper 22's and have been waiting to see yours mounted before I pull the trigger after winter.
Paying that much money for something you dont "LOVE", isnt worth it.. I suppose putting the spacer on for a few weeks wont be too bad, but make sure you have it on paper saying you can trade in the front two when he gets the right sized ones
