It fits loosely in the slot for the valve handle from the top. You'll see when it arrives. Basically, it fills the slot were the ball valve handle moves, so it prevents the ball from moving out of the "closed" position because the handle can't be moved into the "open" position.

Everyone swears that I do not need it, but I wanted belt & suspenders to hold up my pants. Besides, I had a 5/8" clip on the work bench not doing anything useful...... You can see the clip installed at this link: http://www.fumotousa.com/ (bottom of page). Just me being anal (refer to post #4).

Let us know how it goes, Walt. Just the new oil ought to be worth one mpg, lol! I'll do another post on my observations with the DashHawk and the EGR valve.

Was hoping for 5-10 mpg more with the new oil, Fumoto oil drain valve, and oil catch can. However, I will accept whatever the Jeep gods bestow upon me.

Today's new ghosts:
1. LHS radio speakers not working (along with power locks & driver's power window)
2. NV245 transfer case rear output shaft seal is leaking.

Re: Fresh Mobil1 in the WK

Switching today to Royal Purple after having Mobil 1 in the WK for over 65k miles now. I have the catch can and now RP right before a big drive I have to make this weekend so I'll report back on any noticeable MPG gains.

Re: Fresh Mobil1 in the WK

Was hoping for 5-10 mpg more with the new oil, Fumoto oil drain valve, and oil catch can. However, I will accept whatever the Jeep gods bestow upon me.

Test was a big flop. Strong and blustery winds; there was a U of Mich football game bumper-to-bumper traffic jam. 17.3 mpg going South.

Then, it started misbehaving again and I got 16.3 mpg going North.

These results in lieu of the expected 19.1-19.3 mpg.
MDS starting acting up again Friday PM, and I had to reset it twice.
Not again........... Need to set up appt. for Friday AM.

Re: Fresh Mobil1 in the WK

You wont gain much if any more mpg with synthetic oil... Its better due to it goes longer between changes, and keeps things clean. That's all.

Re: Fresh Mobil1 in the WK

Walt, you need to drive out here and we'll do some repairs/mods on your WK. That mileage is terrible, unless you were driving in a hurricane and/or 75-80 mph. Is it out of warranty yet? You're at low elevation there, aren't you? It sure seems that you have some gremlins running around there. Send me a PM, and we'll chat.

7qts later and she's good to go for a few thousand smiles.
That's the exact same recipe I use. I sent my oil into blackstone labs at about 5500 miles and they said I could probably go another 1000 miles on it. I probably won't... but it was interesting to get the report.
