you are right, mine blew out at 34k miles and it was in the exact spot that would get red hot everytime i drove it and it popped after it cooled.

It's interesting that you say that because looking at my muffler it also looks like it's been beat up by rocks. I know the history of the Jeep since new and it's never seen anything more than a dirt driveway. Kinda odd huh?
I'm at 31k so I guess I have something to look forward to and should start shopping for a new muffler....
