Re: Gears and/or Tuner

I haven't found any gear sets yet for the Jeep.

I would love to swap my 3.73's for some 4.10's or better!

If you find an option let me know.

Re: Gears and/or Tuner

wouldnt 4.10's push the power band way too high for your F/I setup? You'd be a dog down low in rpms

Re: Gears and/or Tuner

The engines power band would be the same as before. It would just change how that power gets put to the ground through the drive line gearing.

4.10's would turn the tires faster/easier down low (absolute animal) but would kill highway driving mpg's. Lets say your running 65 at 2,500 rpm's with 3.73 gears, now if you put in 4.10's at 65 mph you would be turning 2850+ rpm's.

Re: Gears and/or Tuner

I know, well im pretty sure in 05' the 4.7 had a 3:07 option, i remember seeing the gear ratio's online after i got mine and running outside with my fingers crossed to see if I had the 3:73's which luckily I did. It was definitely needed with the gen 1 4.7.

Re: Gears and/or Tuner

With the overdrive, 4.10/4.56 would still be usable on the highway, and would push the heavy Jeep much better off-the-line. I'm surprised no one builds gears for these.
