It saved my wheel from damage last week. I had run over a piece of metal and cut my right rear tire. The warning light come on, and the display showed my right rear loosing air. I stopped before the tire ever went completely flat and changed it. Had I not had the tpms I would have not known the tire was cut and kept going and not had anywhere to stop and change the tire for a few miles and most likely ruined my wheel. I did have to buy a new tire though because the cut was so large.

A small piece of black electrical tape solved the light problem. Blends in with the instrument cluster pretty good (I can't tell it is there unless the sun it hitting it in the right way).

Did you put it on the inside of the gauge cluster?

Haha yes, I removed the cluster, took off the lens, and cut a small piece of black electrical tape in a circle to fit right over where the light is. I hope you guys didn't think I just put a piece of tape on the lens LOL!

I'll get a pic of it when I get home from work.

Ya I thought I could place it on the lens and when I got in my Jeep I quickly realized that would not work.

Re: Going to regular old valves good or bad move?

haha yeah i was on my way to work tonight and touched the lens and realized it was like 2in in front of the actual cluster so i was thinking how the hell tape over it would work, I wasnt sure if you could remove the plastic to get to the actual cluster or not. Im planning to get a superchip soon so if the TPMS disable works i'll go that route if not I might try the tape trick if the light annoys me enough.

Re: Going to regular old valves good or bad move?

i asked my dealer if they would also but the said no. but i had to flatten the spare to get it under the jeep and as long as the sensor is there it should shut off at least mine did.

They are probably worried about the legal problems it would cause.I think the Starscan code was XXXX when they get to that part of the programing.Check Jeepforum.com.WK forum that's where I read about it.
