K so I had my hid's installed today....he got them put in, both were on, boom I'm done.....I goto leave and one wouldn't come on.....so we tried again....neither came on......he rewired them so they both are connected to the same and it worked.....I left, got down the road and in the reflection of the car in front of me I see my headlight flickering on and off.....by the time I stopped it had gone completly off......I took it back to my guys shop and he cannot figure out what is wrong.....we finally got both to work BUT in order to do so I have to unlock my car ( one headlight comes on) I have to wait for one headlight to go off and start my car and turn my headlights on and they will stay on unlil I shut them off then they won't turn back on UNLESS I do those steps again......and if they are both working....when I shut my car off both stay on but the right one goes off after about 20 secs and the left goes off after about 90????? But yet there both hooked up at the same source!?? Please someone tell me how to fix this, I go back tomm at 2:30 to get my foglights converted and he's gonna try to fix this problem but we need help
Have you followed the steps on this website that have been talked about several times on grounding issues? Have you put in a relay harness? This stuff has been discussed many times, check the grounds properly and mount the grounds to the factory grounds, make sure you use a wiring harness, what type of HID's are you using?
def sounds like you're not using a relay or your mechanic doesnt know how to ground the negative cables properly! please post pics of the kit and of where the wires are grounded.
i dunno the kit brand, its a brand that the guys shop has a deal with.......we got them working, but seriously, it was a pain in the ass.....we followed the steps on here and still, one wouldnt come on, he had no idea why, yes we had a relay........ended up wiring them with the fogs so now i have to have the fog lights on in order for my headlights to work, ill post pics later.....anyone wants to drive to campbellsville kentucky n fix them, just gimmie a ring haha........c-mon scott
Looks Sweet! Just IDK to me i couldn't sleep knowing my car was wired that way. In my head if it doesn't worj the factory way than it's a hazzard with a few exceptions....
Alright guys....not even kidding, went to work this morning, looked in reflection of another car of the way, and neither headlight will come on....the fogs are on, but not the headlights ......blown fuse or should I worry?
I'm sure the way you (or your shop) rigged it up is the reason your fuses keep blowing. If the HID's and relay(s) are installed correctly, then you should have no issues whatsoever.
And I don't mean to sound like an ass, but if the shop you got these installed at cannot handle installing ballasts and a relay, then you should seriously question the integrity of the shop.
We have members here who have half a brain and could get this stuff installed in no time (Irf, Nate, etc, )

If it was me I wouldn't settle for a half ass install job. This will likely lead to problems in the (near) future. But hopefully you don't have anymore problems.
Dude, I know jack shit about vehicles n parts.....I know to drive them and order things for them......but u could explain all day n i would still not know what to do......I dunno wat to do, this was the only way the guy could get them to work together everytime so I jus dunno
We're not trying to upset you, not at all, just trying to make sure a fellow jeeper gets his shit straightened out.
If you can plug a phone charger into the wall, then you can take on this. (slight exaggeration ) But seriously, it would be best to get them installed properly. You don't want this to screw up any part of your electrical system down the road.
you can always try to google it too trust me i don't know jack either and i have taught myself through illustrations and diagrams posted all over the web.
thought it might help
