grill question

i went to home depot and found some mesh,looks like what you would spend big money on,i was thinking on picking up a sheet 4x8,its only 8 bucks painting it like a silver or chrome like color and custom making one,my jeep is red rock with some chrome acc with chrome clad wheels,anyone done this and what do you think about the color,your opinions please

no matter what color you choose, get it powder coated. If you spray paint it you will have rock chips galore in a matter of weeks.

I did a similar mod on my S4 before the Jeep and i had that mesh powder coated and installed on the car for about 3years. In that time i got maybe 3 or 4 rock chips. Trust me, powder coating is the way to go. It shouldn't cost you no more than $40-50.

I really like the look of the chrome mesh grills in the chevy Tahoe / avalanche, I want to try something similar on the jeep at some point.
