Grinding felt when turning wheel all the way to left or right

This just started happening. When i turn the steering wheel all the way to the left or right and move i can feel like a grinding through the wheel. I checked the CV boots but there are no rips in them. What can this be? it almost feels like its hitting something but its not.

Re: Grinding felt when turning wheel all the way to left or right

I'd have it checked out by a dealer especially if the warranty is still in place. Can't hurt.

The reason I suggest this is because on the Jeep SRT8 (different transfer case btw), when you turn the wheel hard left/right and make a circle, if you get binding it's in the transfer case. This comes from a GURU who rebuilds these transfer cases. His recommendation is to replace the transfer case fluid. Again, have a dealer look at it, I'm not an expert -- just thought this sounded like an issue I read about on the Red Site.

Re: Grinding felt when turning wheel all the way to left or right

I brought it to the dealer and they said nothing was wrong. I checked the cv boots and there is no rips or tears in the boots

Re: Grinding felt when turning wheel all the way to left or right

Well, obviously the dealer is wrong, since you say there is a problem. Lol. My bad CV joints produced a clicking noise and felt like the wheels were going to fall off. Is it still happening, did they even take it for a drive at the dealer?
