Unhappy Heater blower

Hi all, just fitted a new heater/ac/climate control unit ( had 2 bulbs out and the blower control wasn"t working) and still nothing from the blower control. Is there a fuse / reset ? I"ve looked at the fuses as per the owners manual and they seem ok, tho" they"re not easy to get at, don"t really want to go near the dealer, ha, who does! Thanx PaulH SR"D" 6 Overland.

Re: Heater blower

probably a failed blower motor resistor or blower motor (most commonly the blower motor resistor).

Re: Heater blower

there may be a blown fuse, and obviously it would be the first place to check prior to paying for replacement parts... got to the parts store and get a test light, find a good ground for the testlight lead and poke the top of each fuse terminal (2 pokes on each fuse) if you get nothing on both terminals, no worries there is no power through the fuse, if you have power on ONE terminal and not the other, you have a blown fuse. fyi, generally if its a resistor the blower still works on high. look through your owners manual for any blower motor fuse and check that specific fuse... ill look around in a minute.

Thumbs up Re: Heater blower

Many thanx mate, fuses checked , all ok, motor out and fine (phew) condensor..... shot. Soo, call to the dealer and they"ll have one for Tues. tho" it"s 67.00 . Never had that on any other car but , I do keep the climate control on auto all the time, is that a good/bad idea? I did the the same on a Landcruiser 80 I had before and had no electrical probs., guess thats the Jap. electrics for ya"! Cheers PaulH SR"D"6 Overland.
