First, welcome to the forum. Sorry it's starting out this way though.
I would say it depends on what your ultimate goal(s) are for your ride. If you're planning to make a high powered racer out of it, definitely go bigger bore, heads, and all forged components. If you're going after a little more power, just add a bunch of stock 6.1 stuff, most of which is forged. If you're going to continue fording rivers, get a good snorkel air intake first, and maybe still add a few 6.1 parts. Otherwise, stock will probably be much less $$$.
