help!!! How to strengthen 545RFE transmission?

My friend has made an upgrade 5.7 HEMI GC here in Russia. Now he has 6.4 HEMI turbocharged engine. Gross power is about 500 hp. But now there was a problem, friction clutches of 545RFE tranny burn and damaged due to excessive torque. He tried to use Line Pressure Booster from Sonnax, but except jerks in transmission has not received any results. Could you please to advise proper kit for adaptation of 545RFE tranny to high torque transfer?

Re: help!!! How to strengthen 545RFE transmission?

I don't know anything about transmissions, but I know the SRT8's share a transmission with the 3.7's... maybe you'd want to look into one of those...?

Also, member here 'Escape' has a turbo'd 5.7... I think he's done some stuff to his 545RFE.

Re: help!!! How to strengthen 545RFE transmission?

I tried to increase the holding power of mine. Also a 6.4L. They rebuilt it 3 times and i think they finally got it right. Try the "Alto Red Eagle" Clutch packs. They are thinner so you can fit more of them in the transmission, which gives you more surface area for higher tq capacity. At least that's the theory. Mine was finished Saturday night and has been running good so far but i havent really gotten on it yet, i thought i'd give it a few days before beating on it.

My long term plan is to save up for a Sharadon Performance Tranny. Not sure if that's an option for ya with the shipping costs: http://www.sharadon.com/sdtestparts.htm

Also forum member PJS1965 let me know about this shop which is working on some 545rfe products: http://paramountperformanceproducts.com/
