HELP: Off road setup - will they scrape?

Hey guys,

I know I have been killing everyone here about my setup... but here is the deal. I have an 07 WK Diesel. I love her, and almost went the SRT clone route... but decided to go more off-road and rugged for this rig.

That being said... I am getting these:

http://www.procompusa.com/productlis...10&ptid=100073

They are 17" and I want to put on BFG 265/70R17 All Terrain K/O's on there. I also am going to put on an OME 2" lift.

The guy at my local 4WheelParts store said that won't fit... But I can't imagine that not fitting. Do you guys have any idea who has this setup... and if I need to do anything to the car otherwise?

Thanks,
D

Re: HELP: Off road setup - will they scrape?

Did he say why they wont fit? I have the OME lift and I run 285's. I don't know too much about backspacing but I have the stock wheels and I run 1.25" wheel spacers. The ball joint bolt is fine, I had to do the pinch weld mod. With 265s you shouldn't have to do the pinch weld mod, especially since you're running all terrains and I have muds.

With a spacer you'll be fine. Or you have to grind the tip off the upper ball joint. Either will fit the 265's.

Re: HELP: Off road setup - will they scrape?

YES! i called the sepulveda shop. They said they had a guy come in... put the OME lift on his WK, and ran 265s. He said the guy off roaded hard and the tires got some good chunks taken out of them. He also said the guy jumped his WK... which could f-up any tires anywhere if you are running that hard.

Ok... glad you guys let me know. Sounds like with the 265s I'll be fine. I can always chop off that tip of the upper ball joint.

Or should I just get 285's.....

Re: HELP: Off road setup - will they scrape?

when i went there the guy talked me into the RK 3.5" ( which in reality only yields 2" )lift and suggested i didnt go any higher than 32" tires... i know for a fact i can clear those tires with a spacer just fine on that lift.

Try not to chop off that tip because if you do you wont be able to take it off if you need to... just get spacers, its ok.
