Might still replace the two upstream O2 sensors depending on the mileage I get the next couple weeks.
During initial 3/36 warranty period, I got a driver side front O2 sensor code and dealer replaced it. Later, same code appeared, but it went away on its own after 3 good "trips".

Once the EGR was renewed, no further codes or driveability issues.

[FYI: I also had the new 5.7L driveability TSB done at the same time the EGR valve was changed.]

Re: Help--Surge at 30 MPH in 05WK 5.7-- Help

thanks to everyone for your input, it was all valuable.
I ended up having to pull the alternator to get to the lower bolt, I just couldnt get enough wrench on it to get out.

GOOD NEWS!!! The Hemi breathes fire now!!

The EGR must have been going bad for quite some time. In the time that I drove it to get the computer to relearn, my MPG is up about by about 4.

Locking it in at 30mph, it just humms right along, no more searching for the right mixture or reving.

Best $39 I've spent on my Jeep!!!

Bill

Nice.. now get a catch can for that thing and it'll keep running good for miles to come.

Which line does the catchcan go on?

The backside of the throtle plate was so caked with gunk, it looked like it was coated with undercoating.
I'm guessing thats not a "Feature" of the Hemi....

Really happy that the new EGR valve cured your gas pains (pun intended). Really hard to explain how this component affects so much and the dealers do not appreciate it yet. Took me almost 2 months to finally figure out that this was the culprit. You should probably plan on a 50K mile change interval -or- whenever you do your serpentine belt change.

The oil catch can goes between the PCV valve outlet and the intake manifold. Look for some threads with catch can and jeepcoman in them. All is revealed.................
