Re: Hemi Losing Coolant!

I'm taking it to my Uncles Garage tomorrow to see what it is. I found a brand new waterpump for $77! and I will order a new T-stat and new Coolant.

Re: Hemi Losing Coolant!

Well, I finally found out where it was coming from (The Leak). I was changing the spark plugs on my Jeep yesterday and I saw liquid dripping. Sure enough it was Orange and my Coolant Resevoir fluid was below the ADD Line. The leak was coming from the WaterPump. I just ordered a new one from www.MoparPartsAmerica.com for $78 plus a new Gasket for $7. And bought a new T-stat. I found a local place named NAPA and they had some Zerex G-05 Coolant, so I bought to Gallons of that.

I've just noticed that I am getting a few drops of anti-freeze on the right side after the WK sits overnight. Looks like it only happens when it's cold as I have never seen anything under it while parked after driving it. I'll be putting it up on the hoist in a day or so and see if I can find out where it's coming from. Already checked around the coolant recovery tank, but didn't see anything.
Looks like a radiator leak, need some minor fix like checking the piping or soldering some seams

Re: Hemi Losing Coolant!

I fixed the problem. It ended up being a Bad Waterpump. I replaced the Waterpump, T-Stat and did a Coolant Flush. Now the Jeep is much better!

Unhappy Re: Hemi Losing Coolant!

I think my water pump is leaking too on my 05 Hemi. Was it hard to change the water pump? Also, will putting in a 180 tsat in make the water pump leak ? I got the 7/70 warranty on my jeep has anybody used it to fix this part.

Re: Hemi Losing Coolant!

^^^ Did you figure out if adding the 180 tsat makes it leak? Ever since I put mine on my coolant has been doing the same thing (magically disappearing)

Sorry for bumping an old thread

Re: Hemi Losing Coolant!

Make sure you are puting the correct Coolant. I bought my Coolant from NAPA. It's the same Coolant that they used from the Factory.
