This is how i did mine and they came out fine. Just make sure they are cleaned well. I went over mine with windex and than again with just a microfiber towel before I sprayed them.

there ya go, crappy pics, but u can see the wrinkles, because it didnt fit right, so i had to heat and stretch, and you can see how it doesnt line up right...the tint looks alright from far away, but my weekend project is gonna be to retint the tails

I tried a lamin-x pre-cut recently. I would not recommend it, the quality seems fine but it was very difficult to work with and stretch. The pre-cut kit was more of a hassle than anything, maybe buying a small roll would have been smarter, but I blame that on them. You can see some small air bubbles that surprisingly disappeared on their own as lamin-x claimed they would.
